What You Can Do to Help
Collect used dictionaries from your local library. Buy African novels off the Internet. Give away the old nonfiction books collecting dust on your shelf. Write a list of the 10 best books you have read in the last year, and pick them up at your neighborhood bookstore.
Talk About the NGSLP. Send an email about it to your friends, family, and co-workers about collecting books for Africa. Put a link to www.ngslproject.org in your email signature.
Donate. More than anything else, we need money in order function. Raise money at your work. Challenge your family to give $25 at your holiday season for African education. Ask friends to donate money to the NGSLP in lieu of a gift on your next birthday. It costs only $1 to put a book in the hands of a Sierra Leonean child. For $500, you can sponsor a month’s worth of classes for preschoolers and literacy for adults.
Join us. Volunteers are welcome to join us in September 2008 for a month-long adventure into Sierra Leone, while helping distribute books.
Please contact us for more information about joining us in September, or what you can do to help.
